There are several mens cancer clinical trials happening in Basingstoke as part of the ..................................................... ...... Taking that into consideration along with research taking place in Southampton's CRUK Clinical Centre, men's cancer research is well represented in this region with phase 1,2 and 3 trials taking place.

  DNA vaccine for prostate cancer is in Southampton. This is part of early phase work. Early phase work here recruits patients from across the world and trials include investigations into chemotherapy and radiotherapy ( testicular & prostate) hormone therapy ( prostate) and looking at genetic links ( testicular & prostate)

Trials specific to Basingstoke currently include:

A trial looking at radiotherapy or Ibandronate for pain caused by prostate cancer that has spread to the bone.

A study looking at the genetic causes of prostate cancer-


A trial looking at radiotherapy and hormone therapy after surgery for


Trials specific to Southampton currently include:

A trial looking at the immune system in men having treatment for Prostate Cancer Research UK.

A study to identify genetic causes of testicular cancer.

A study looking at screening for men who are at high risk of developing prostate cancer.

A study looking at hormone therapy for prostate cancer.
